What is the Acer ED323QUR Abidpx

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx is a widescreen monitor that is a great choice for mixed usage. It also has all the essential features a serious gamer would want on his monitor. Read this review of The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx to know more about it.

Acer ED323QUR Abidpx – Image Quality

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx is a 31.5-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) widescreen monitor. It is based on the VA panel. It covers 99% of the sRGB color gamut and supports true 8-bit color depth.

The 1440p resolution offers you better image quality and more screen real estate than the 1080p resolution. You can multi-task effectively between different applications without always having to switch between tabs.

The color accuracy of this monitor is decent. The images are fairly vibrant and the colors pop out. Except for color-critical work like graphic design, you can use this monitor for everything else. You can also improve the color quality of this monitor by a few tweaks here and there.

Here are my optimal color settings for the Acer ED323QUR Abidpx

Picture:

  • Brightness: 70
  • Contrast: 50
  • Black Boost: 5
  • Blue light: Off
  • ACM: Off
  • Super Sharp: Off

Color

  • Gamma – 2.2
  • Color temp – User
  • R Gain – 50
  • G Gain – 35
  • B Gain – 50
  • R Bias – 40
  • G Bias – 45
  • B Bias – 50
  • sRGB – ON

Do keep in mind that these are my settings for the Acer ED323QUR Abidpx. Every monitor is different hence they may not be the perfect match for you. You can use them as a baseline and tweak the colors further if you want to. But for most users, these settings should bring a good improvement in the overall visual quality.

The VA panels are popular for their high contrast levels. This monitor has a contrast level of 3000:1. You will have sharp and detailed images that have a certain depth in them. Blacks appear deeper and whites appear brighter. The colors will look lively. The curved screen makes watching movies or playing games more immersive.

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx has a brightness level of 250-nits. It is fairly bright and you wot have any problem using it even in a well-lit room.

The viewing angles of this monitor are decent. It has 178° Horizontal and 178° Vertical viewing angles. You don’t have to worry about seeing washed-out images when you view this monitor from different angles. There won’t be any major change in color, contrast, and brightness levels as long as you don’t view this monitor from very extreme angles.

This monitor has an optimal pixel density of 93PPI. You will have crisp-looking images and sharp text. It is also easy on the eyes.

The monitor we reviewed had no dead pixels on it. There was a little amount of burn-in noticed at the edges of this monitor. It is tolerable and is only noticeable in dark areas of a game or movie. Since you won’t always have to look at dark areas, this is not a major problem.

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx has a matte anti-glare coating on it that prevents any reflections from forming on it.

Overall, the image quality of this monitor is very good. It doesn’t have any major drawbacks. You will definitely be satisfied with it.

Acer ED323QUR Abidpx – Design, Ergonomics, and Connectivity

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx is a curved monitor. It has a curvature of 1800R. Curved monitors are a better fit for the large 32-inch screens.

In terms of its design, it is fairly simple except for the red highlights on its stand. The bezels are thin and maximize the viewing area and minimize any distractions when you use it for a multi-monitor setup.

There is a joystick on its back using which you can control the OSD controls. It is a better alternative to buttons and is also more user-friendly.

The build quality of this monitor is decent. The plastic used is durable and is of good quality. The backside of this monitor has a matte anti-glare coating on it that prevents smudges and makes it easy to clean. The stand is sturdy and doesn’t wobble. It also has a hollow for cable management.

The ergonomics of the stand is only limited to -5° / 15° Tilt functionality. You cannot adjust the height of the monitor, swivel it, rotate it, or pivot it at 90°. There is a 100x100mm VESA pattern present using which you can wall mount this monitor or connect it to a third-party stand.

There are plenty of connectivity options for this monitor. They are 1 x DisplayPort, 1 x HDMI 1.4, and 1 x DVI. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack present. It doesn’t have any built-in speakers.

Acer ED323QUR Abidpx – Gaming Performance

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx is an excellent gaming monitor.

It has a 144Hz refresh rate. You will have a smooth gaming experience. There will be a night and day difference when you switch over from a 60Hz monitor.

Its 1440p resolution is the sweet spot for those looking for an upgrade from the 1080p resolution. It doesn’t consume as much as GPU resources as the 4K resolution and also allows you to game at 144Hz. Here are few Graphics cards that allow you to run games at 1440p 144Hz.

It has a response time of 4ms. Its input lag is around 8ms and is imperceptible. There was no major noticeable ghosting and motion blur in games. This is impressive for a VA panel.

You can enjoy responsive esports gaming without any issues. Although I suggest 1ms TN panels for hardcore competitive gamers.

It also supports AMD’s FreeSync technology. You can game on it without having to worry about stuttering, screen tearing, and lagging as long as your FPS in games is between 48 and 144. It also works properly for 10-series and later Nvidia Graphics cards.

Acer ED323QUR Abidpx – Features

The Acer ED323QUR Abidpx comes with a blue light filter. You can work or game on it for long hours without worrying about eye strain.

It is also a flicker-free monitor. You will not experience any headaches even after using it for a prolonged period of time even if you are sensitive to flickering.

The Aim point feature gives you custom crosshairs to use in games.

The Overdrive feature helps you control the response time. I suggest using the “Normal” option as the “Extreme” option introduces inverse ghosting in games.

The BlackBoost feature increases the visibility of enemies in dark areas of a game without overexposing the bright areas.

The OSD menu has many features you can tweak. They range from simple settings like contrast, brightness, etc. to advanced features like color temperate. It is easy to navigate and is user friendly.
